The Byzantine church of the Panagia Kera has one of the most decorative church doors on Crete and an artistic back window. The church has two aisles and it was covered with frescoes, but few are visible today. To reach the church the village must be bypassed in order to enter the small gorge behind it. At the village square, turn left on an unpaved road that goes back initially, but then circles around and comes to the far end of the village. There the road continues towards the gorge. You will arrive at a riverbed. Park the car on the other side of the riverbed, walk uphill about 200 metres and you will see the remains of a house. A descending path to the right leads to the church, which is visible from the house.
