The plain of Kydonia extends from the northern beaches to the foothills of the Lefka Ori. There are various roads that cross the plain of Kydonia, winding through orange, lemon, and grapefruit orchards. This is one of the richest growing areas in Crete. The orchards produce year round, but they are most fruitful in the winter and spring.
