The village of Kalo Chorio is 7km south of Agios Nikolaos, above Istro. You are able to cross the island and reach Ierapetra on this road, although it is slow and winds through the mountains. To the southeast of Kalo Chorio in the place called Vrocastro 300 metres above the sea and the remains of an old Minoan site from the Prepalatial Period (2200 B.C.).

I worked over there in 1993 and every one were so kind to me and my other friends while i was there. This has got to be the most beautiful place on the ever i absolutely love it, the people are just so nice friendly and welcoming, the food is fantastic and service what more do i have to say, once you´ve been here your hooked, if your looking for something quiet and relaxing with a friendly atmosphere this is for you. I´m looking forward to going back......

I have been to Kalo Horio 3 times and found it extremely friendly, warm and inviting. We always feel as if we are returning to visit family. The bars are good and the food is excellent. We have friends that live in the village and in the old village near the old bar which is fantastic for cheap wine. After a few you do not even taste it any more. However the walk back to the village is a bit dodgy as there is no lighting but it is fun when you have had too much wine. The times we have visited there their is usually acrowd so it is graet fun. Georges bar (actually a caravan) on the beach is a must however I understand he burnt it down last year, lets hope he gets another one You just have to visit for yourself to find out.

If you are stressed this is the place to unwind. If we can get somewhere cheap enough to stay this year we are hoping to take the grandchildren. They will love it

I´ve spent 2 wonderful weeks in Kalo Horio, 2 years ago. I stayed in Golden Bay Hotel. The hotel and the village are really great. The people are friendly, th efood is great - especially in Zygo´s restaurant, and the atmosphere there is really cool. it´s the best place to have some rest, without the crowds. The beaches there are good, too. there´s a golden beach and a silver beach and some small beaches near the golden one. We usually visited the silver beach as there are less people and it isn´t crowded. I reccomend this place to people who like peaceful and quiet places and wonderful Greek atmosphere and cuisine. I hope I´ll come back there one day.

My grandparens and my unds have fields in Kalo Horio. My father lives in Agios Nikolaos witch is very near from kolo horio. Me and my older(four years) brother fly there every summer.

In Kalo Horio I have great times with my friends every summer and particulary Istron beatch is wonderfull and clean! Yhe water is really great and the sand hot! And is very easy and quick to go there. Just jump on the bus and out. And on the way there you have beautifull views.

The peoples in Kalo Horio are very kind and always happy to help you. The food is also lovely!

For sure you gonna have great and unforgetable time...
