The impressive Chanioporta was the gateway to the west of Crete. Its formal name is the Gate of the Pantocrator (the Almighty). The well preserved Venetian walls and the massive moat are very visible at this gate and you can still see elaborate carvings on the gate such as a winged lion and a relief bust of the Pantocrator.
