Chora Sfakion is 72km from Chania on the Chania - Vrises - Chora Sfakion road, and 63km from Rethymnon on the Rethymnon - Armeni - Agios Vasilios - Rodakino - Sfakia road.

Nowadays, Chora Sfakion is best known as the last stage of the excursion from the Samaria Gorge.
