The bakery was named after the village "Plátanos" in western Crete and has a 35 year long history.
GETTING HERE:
The bakery lies on the main road of Plátanos in an area abounding in olive groves, famous for its top quality olive oil "Falassarni" produced by the Agricultural Cooperative of Plátanos.

All bakery products is made with virgin olive oil produced by the owner of the bakery! All kinds of bread, rusks, scones, and desserts are prepared using olive oil produced by the owner of the shop. In "Plátanos" you can also find a unique type of pastry called "eleoboukiés" (olive bites), not to be found in any other bakery. "Eleoboukiés" is a kind of rusk made with olive paste, the originality and great taste of which has been distinguished in the "Eleogefsíes" contest, organized by the Association of Cretan Olive Municipalities of Crete (ACOM-SEDIK).

Apart from modern technology, traditional methods and traditional Cretan recipes are in essence employed for the creation of delicious products. The products of the bakery are sold in super markets all over Greece, as well as in shops with traditional Cretan products.
