Agia Triada - Bastion and Lower Court

To the right of the East Wing staircase there is an open area. This area was most probably a courtyard and at a later date enclosed on its north side by a thick walled room. A Minoan paved road known as the Rampa al Mare led from this court to the sea. It went along the north face of the retaining wall, past the storerooms, to the Royal Apartments in the West Wing.
