Traditional settlement of Milia

Street: Milia
Phone: 28220 51569

The restoration of the village began in the early 1980s, on the ruins of the old village of Miliá that had been abandoned by its residents in 1947. Construction works were completed in 1993, and since them "Milia" operates as a traditional settlement.

On the road from Kaloudianá to Elafoníssi, just before Élos, where the central offices of Innachório Municipality are located, turn left and follow the signs indicating the route to Miliá. After some kilometres, you will find yourself in the village Vlátos, from which you should follow the signs and turn right again. After a while, you will reach a 2km dirt road that will lead you to the traditional settlement.

All products offered in Miliá are results of organic farming. You will be spoiled with selection and homemade goodies, since all meals are prepared with seasonal, fresh products and of course olive oil extracted from the olive groves of the settlement.

A truly traditional village that is environmentally friendly. Miliá comprises 13 very beautiful rooms surrounded by nature and decorated according to traditional aesthetics. The entire village is supplied with electricity generated by a photovoltaic system, whereas the electric generator is only used on rare occasions. The photovoltaic system is being expanded in order to ensure a greater electrical output for the region, while works are being scheduled for the exploitation of the region’s waters for the purposes of electricity generation. Miliá’s guests will be excited by the region’s unparalleled natural beauty and the endless excursion options offered. What is more, you will have the chance to participate in village and farming activities, such as animal milking, fruit picking, the cultivation of gardens and the engrafting of trees. One of the most important highlights of the settlement is its tranquillity and serenity.

The restaurant of "Miliá" is stone and wood built. It does not only offer rare flavours, but also a very warm and friendly ambience, warm during the winter and cool during the summer, with a magnificent view of the surrounding region. Many traditional products made with olive oil, herbs, wines and honey can be bought in the tavern.

The whole region of Innachório can serve as a reference point for your tours and explorations. Elafoníssi is about 25km away, while the mountain of Ágios Díkeos is also nearby. If you are lucky enough, you might get to see one of the harrier eagles flying in the region. You will also see many quaint villages nestled amongst chestnuts, plane and olive trees.
