GETTING HERE:
It is situated close to the square of Paleá Roúmata, a scenic mountainous village with an idiosyncratic tradition as far as nutrition, culture and music are concerned. It is 16km away from Voukoliés and 40km away from Haniá.
HIGHLIGHTS:
The homemade cuisine of this family tavern makes visitors feel as though they are visiting a traditional Cretan home. The meat, the dairy products, and the vegetables used in all culinary creations are produced by the owners of the tavern themselves. Set amongst olive groves it is an ideal place to visit not only during the summer, but also during the winter thanks to the exceptional natural beauty.
DO NOT MISS OUT ON:
Delicious home-made dishes, such as chicken cooked in wine, stewed rabbit stifádo, kalitsoúnia pies baked on the stone, stuffed grapevine leaves, the delicious Cretan vegetarian patty, bouréki, all cooked on the basis of traditional Cretan recipes. Even the bread is made in the tavern's wood burning oven. In the preparation of all dishes, including fried ones, olive oil produced by the Boboláki family is exclusively used.
