Theoharakii Athletic Races were named like this in honour of the family of Theoharakis, which has its roots in Kissamos, and took place for first time in 1999. The races are programmed to contain classic athletics, basketball, beach volley, tennis and fight races, as well as the Theoharakio marathon (10 km approximately) etc. The ambition of Kissamos municipality is the races to become a main athletic event, first of all in prefecture level.
