Near the village is the monastery of Profitis Ilias. The monastery includes the Byzantine church of Profitis Ilias, Agia Triada, and Agia Zoni. The church is a three-aisled basilica with a dome on a drum. It has a bell tower with two bells with inscriptions dated 1637. The monastery had been a centre of support for the revolutions against the Turks and it was destroyed by the Turks in 1821.
