Knossos - West Entrance

The door-post sockets and the central locking hole, Knossos
The door-post sockets and the central locking hole, Knossos
This area was a porch with its roof supported by a huge single column and with double doors opening to the Corridor of the Procession. The base of the column, the door sockets, and the indentation for the centre bolt are still evident. There is also evidence of an inner room, floored with red plaster.
