Directly across from the market is Tzanakaki street with the National Bank of Greece on the corner. Continuing up  Tzanakaki street there is the central post office and next to it the telecommunications centre with fax and long distance telephone facilities. Farther up Tzanakaki street on the same side is the Public Gardens ("Kipos") of Chania with a pleasant coffee shop, trees providing shade, zoo, and open-air cinema. The Olympic Airlines office is also on Tzanakaki street, opposite the gardens' entrance.
