The portal of Agia Anna, Amari
The Byzantine church of Agia Anna contains some of the earliest inscription-dated frescoes in Crete (1225). The frescoes are faded and not very impressive but the church is pleasantly situated in lush vegetation. The church has supporting blind arches on the south wall and some ruins, as it once had a second aisle.
