The church of Michael Archangelos, in Asomatos south of Arhanes, contains frescoes of a good quality and in good state of preservation dated 1315. The donor of the church is shown with his wife (damaged) offering a model of the church to Michael Archangelos. Michael Archangelos is reached by following the road south out of Archanes, past an abandoned hotel on the right at the top of the valley. Turn left 500 metres past it on to a narrow, roughly paved road that climbs east into the fields. At the top of a hill (400m) there is an old sign pointing to Asomatos. The church is 400 metres beyond this on the left below the road. The key for the church is held in a taverna in the main square of Arhanes.
