In Kastri itself is the Byzantine church of the Panagia. The church has two long aisles one much wider than the other. It may have been a three-aisled basilica in the past. It has an attractive back window and blind arches on the back walls. To reach the church of the Panagia take the road up (left) just before you enter the village of Kastri. The road leads to the hill where the remains of the castle are. At the end of the road is the village cemetery and the church of the Panagia.
