Also in Zakros, on a right hand turn before the village, is the Byzantine church of Christos. The paved road passes all the houses and goes above the village to end in a ravine and the church of Christos. The area has been developed into an pleasant picnic area around an old mill. There are traces of frescoes in the church and ancient remains in the yard from the previous church.
