Eleftheriou Venizelou street is at the north end of Iroon Politechniou street and leads eastwards towards the district of Chalepa where the house of Eleftherios Venizelos lies. It crosses with M.Koundourou street that leads northeast towards Akrotiri, Venizelos Graves ("Tafi Venizelon"), the Technical University of Crete and the Airport of Chania.
Eastwards, Eleftheriou Venizelou street leads to the city centre, next to the Public Market, passing outside the Santa Lucia Bastion on the right and the athletic stadium of Chania on the left.
The street is named after the early 1900's century politician and Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos who came from Chania and is considered one of the brightest personalities of modern Greece.
