The Upper Court and the Theatre Area, Festos
The modern entrance at the northwest of the palace leads to the Upper Court, traversed by a slightly elevated processional path. The Upper Court, used during both the Old and New Palace Periods, was possibly a market area. A stairway leads to the West Court and its theatre.
