The Byzantine church of Agios Miron, named after a local man who became the bishop of Knossos around the fourth century A.D., dates from the second Byzantine period, but fragments of an early Christian basilica have been built in it. Presently the church is being extensively renovated. It has the usual cruciform architecture of the Byzantine churches of the second Byzantine period. The transept is highest part of the church. In the centre of the church there is a dome. The church has a narthex in the front which is also three-aisled and has an internal dome as well as many external blind arches. The drum on which the dome is supported has eight old windows and its arches are supported with eight small columns. The two windows in the upper part of the perpendicular aisle are also old. The church celebrates on 8th of August and a large fair (panigiri) takes place.
The large and impressive Byzantine church of Agios Miron is easily found in this village.
